Spitrz is operated by Oaqwoods LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Spitrz mobile app and website (collectively, "the Service"). If you have questions, contact us at info@oaqwoods.app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Spitrz:

Information you provide directly:

  • Email address — used to create and manage your account.
  • Username (handle) — your public battle name.
  • Bio and avatar — optional profile information you choose to share.
  • Battle content — verses you submit in battles.
  • Notebook entries — private drafts and notes visible only to you.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data — battles entered, votes cast, app interactions.
  • Device token — if you grant push notification permission, we store your device token to send battle and challenge notifications.
  • App preferences — theme selection stored locally on your device via standard iOS/Android storage.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To match you with opponents via our ranked and unranked matchmaking system.
  • To calculate and display your ELO rating and tier on the leaderboard.
  • To send push notifications about battles, challenges, votes, and followers — only if you grant permission.
  • To display your profile, battle history, and stats to other users.
  • To improve the Service and fix bugs.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with third-party advertisers.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. See supabase.com/privacy.
  • Expo / Apple / Google— push notifications are delivered through Expo's notification service, which routes through Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM) infrastructure.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.

5. Public Information

Your handle, tier, battle record, and battle verses (after submission) are visible to all users of the Service — including visitors who are not logged in. Your email address, notebook entries, and device token are never made public.

6. Push Notifications

Push notifications are optional. You can disable them at any time in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Spitrz → Notifications; Android: Settings → Apps → Spitrz → Notifications). Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use the app.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion by emailing info@oaqwoods.app, we will delete your personal information within 30 days. Battle content you submitted may be anonymised rather than deleted to preserve battle history integrity.

8. Children's Privacy

Spitrz is rated 18+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@oaqwoods.app and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Data portability (receive a copy of your data).

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security on our database, and hashed passwords. No system is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
